DAY 2 Porto

 

THE ENDING OF ARRIVAL DAY. HAPPY HOUR AT THE HOTEL IN THE COURTYARD

AFTER THE WALK ALONG THE RIVER

 I chose to talk a walk across the Ponte de Luis 1 bridge, which is a walking and train bridge, amazing views of the Douro river and the city.  The trains brush past you as you walk across..careful..

YOU WILL NOTE the Funicular dos Guindais the elevator from the top on the right of the pictures to the bottom by the river.

ARRIVED IN PORTO, DRIVER WAS AT THE AIRPORT AWAITING OUR ARRIVAL.

We’re staying in a beautiful boutique 5 star, NH Jardim, just along the river.

Alfred a quick shower and unpack, time to try to walk off some of the jet lag.  Walked along the river and then down to a cool pub in the hill side where the fellow was cooking sardines on the out door grill.

Very Long Flight, a delay in each leg..but we’re here..

 The flight day was a long one, with flight delays as well as a computer glitch in Amsterdam, allowing us to stay in the tarmac until they found us a new place for the plane to disembark.

At the furthest end of the airport, it’s a crazy airport.

The flight from Amsterdam to Porto was late, but efficient..We are here..
